The great DEPRESSION
The Great Depression started on Tuesday, October 29, 1929 when the stock market crashed. People began taking their money out of the banks which caused many banks to close. Most companies went out of business with no capital from stocks or banks. People stopped earning money and spending money. The Great Depression ended in 1939.
