Between 1930 and 1940 on the graph above there is a noticeable decrease in the population, due to the poor living conditions and financial problems during this time.
Between 1920 and 1940 the population density dramatically rose because many people lost their homes and had to move to the city in the Hoovervilles.
During the Great Depression there was deflation, which is when items cost less.
